Hi all! I’m Kaitlyn, and I’m so glad you’ve found Sauté By The Bay!
Sauté By The Bay is all about simple global recipes, made with a healthy Californian spin. Think of it as a way to travel the world from your own kitchen (no passport renewal required!).
I love to travel, so let’s just say the pandemic was a little challenging for me as I stared out my window in my tiny studio apartment everyday. What brought me joy was remembering my past travels, and especially the food I had along the way. It’s true that food (and especially the amazing smell of that food) can transport you faster than anything you can find in science fiction!
So I started recreating my favorite meals from around the world, but making my own version with some healthier twists and using what I could find at my local San Francisco farmers market. The recipes you’ll find here are mostly healthy and vegetable-heavy, but I also love a good splurge day and creating fun recipes for date nights and dinner parties (especially with a good bottle of wine). Life is all about balance, right? I also hope to inspire your own culinary adventures and will provide travel tips where I can!

A Little About Me
I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, and while I’ve lived across the west coast, I eventually just had to come back to the city of amazing food, wine, and nature. I work in the tech world but have always loved getting involved in cooking on the side, including running an all women cooking club in SF for 8 years. When not in the kitchen, I’m up in wine country, hiking around Marin, or (of course) traveling!
